Map of Lukla |
Lukla is a two-yak town, but why you need a map when you can see from one end of street to the other. |
| Lukla Market
There is an Ox's head underneath the umbrella
which my picture fails entirely to capture.
It was nice to see the dogs roaming round though. |
| Lukla Street
A typical street, a few people, more Yaks and a smell that can't be photographed. |
| A Sherpa
Not one of ours I hasten to say, but the carrying
of loads like this was quite a common site.
This young chap looked in his teens, though we did see some a lot younger. |
| To Phakding

First excitement of the trip, if you don't count
the flight in was when we had to take a detour - off Piste.
Rain had washed away what has been the road, leaving us to scramble up and down the hill sides. |
