Day 11 - Sunday 10th August

Trek To Base-Camp
Click on an image to view full-size Up early and failed miserably to eat any breakfast. Just a cup of Tang and couple of Paracetamol!!
Terrain is now mostly rocks and boulders on ice.

The scariest bit of the walk, by a long way.

Just below the "path" is ice cold melt-water bubbling away. On the way back a rock fell from the path and just in front of me,

This is as near as I got, it was another 2 hrs walk along the glacier. By this time I was feeling dangerously groggy, Rachel also feeling ill so we turned back here.
